Division Meetings

Each EGU Division, which represents a scientific area or discipline, holds its annual Division Meeting during the week of the General Assembly.

Division Meetings are open to all General Assembly participants and young people are especially encouraged to attend.

The Division Meeting reports on the following:

• News from EGU (current items of council and highlights of the current General Assembly).
• Presentation of current Division Officers and election of new ones.
• Review of Medals and Awards relevant to each Division; advertisement of current recipients and announcement of their Medal Lectures; a review of the Awards and Medals proposal procedures; an advertisement of the next call for nominations for Union and Division medals and awards (including the Arne Richter Outstanding Young Scientists award at Union level and the Outstanding Young Scientists award at Division level) and Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) awards; a call for nominations of new members of the medal committees and the presentation of the Outstanding Young Scientists and Outstanding Student Poster Awards to their recipients.
• Review of EGU publications relevant to each Division, information about editors and status of the journal(s) and future items related to publications.
• Discussion relating to the next year's General Assembly (date and location, call for proposals for sessions, format etc., review of the travel support procedure and the convenors' role in the selection procedure).
• Feedback from the Division for the EGU Council.
